I'm an Arkansas native, but I've lived in Salt Lake since May of 2007. I have one daughter, Gabby, born September 2, 2004. She's the star of this blog and my life.
My favorite color is red. My favorite animal is an elephant. My favorite foods are Wendy's chicken nuggets and popsicles. I want to be an astronaut when I grow up and fly to the moon!
Gabby said, "Mom I can't believe I'm 6. Next birthday I'll be 7 and then I'll be 8 and then I'll be baptized! Mom, who's gonna baptize me? Who baptized you?" I said, "My dad baptized me so maybe yours will baptize you." Gabby said, "I think I'd like Jesus to baptize me." I said, "Maybe you should have a second choice." She said, "If Jesus can't, then how about Uncle Gabe!"

Gabby said to the girl she was sitting next to at church, "Hey, do you want to feel my mom's hair? It's so soft and silky. You should really touch it." The little girl declined with a perplexed look.
Gabby said, "Mommy, you're the prettiest girl there ever was!" I said, "Oh, thank you Gabby that is so sweet! What makes Mommy pretty?" Gabby replied, "Well, you have eyelashes and only pretty girls have eyelashes. Boys don't have eyelashes so they're only handsome."
I said, "Gabby, why don't you sleep with your new Baby Lion tonight. He's so soft." Gabby said, "No, Mommy. I don't like to sleep with animals. I only like to sleep with humans. You're a human, Mom. Will you lay down with me?"
I said, "Gabby, why are still awake at 11:30?" She replied, "Well, I'm not really very good at sleeping. I'm only good at waking. I'm just a really good waker, Mom." -- Truer words have never been spoken!
Gabby praying, "Dear Heavenly Father, thank you that my mommy loves me. Thank you that she's my best friend. Thank you that she's not mad at me. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen." (Yes, that did bring tears to my eyes and made me all the more grateful to be her mommy!)
Gabby said, "When I grow up I'm gonna be a big mommy and work on the computer at the office like you. You'll grow smaller and then you'll get to play games then and be my baby, Mommy."
Gabby said, "Mommy, are we gonna check the mail today?" I said, "No, the mail doesn't come on Sundays." Gabby said, "Oh, the mail the only comes on snowy days?"
I said, "Gabby, it's almost Li'l Dave's birthday, he's turning 3." Gabby replied, "Wow, Li'l Dabe is 3? He's all growed up, huh? He's a big daddy now!"
I asked, "Gabby, why do you like my hair so much?" Gabby replied, "Because your hair is so sweet, special, and beautiful and I just love it!" She then rubbed my hair to her face to emphasize the point.
Gabby said, "I had fun at school today." I said, "I had fun at work." Gabby, "No, Mommy, you didn't. You don't have toys at work and you're not a little girl so you didn't have fun! You have to play to have fun!"
I said, "Gabby you need to tell Heavenly Father 3 things you're thankful for, it makes Him so happy when you talk to Him." Gabby replied, "No Mommy, Heavenly Father likes it when I talk small."
I said, "Gabby we're gonna pick Marji up from the airport tomorrow." Gabby replied, "Mommy, you can't pick up Marji, she's too heavy and you're too small." (Marji, she would say this about any adult!)
